GAIAFIX-II – DOUBLE RAMMING
The Photovoltaic panels mounting system GAIAFIX-II – DOUBLE RAMMING is specially designed to minimize installation and assembly time with the use of simple tools and at the same time it can easily adapt to P/V panels of different dimensions. It can be manufactured for three standardized inclination angles: 20o, 25o & 30o. Above picture shows the 30o inclination case.
Its design allows the installation of P/V modules in two (2) continuous rows with the modules in portrait orientation, creating long integrated mounting systems when required.
All parts of GAIAFIX II - DOUBLE RAMMING are made of steel , that after it has been processed it gets hot-dip galvanized, according to standard EN ISO 1461, coated with at least 70 mm of Zink that guarantees maximum life span (20 -25 years). They have high strength and corrosion resistance and are fully recyclable.
All of the materials meet the appropriate standards - with corrossion resistance up to 25 years, according to Eurocode 3 and show full strength against the following specifications of charges:
75 Kg/m2 of snow load and 33 m/s of wind load for areas that are nearer than 10 km to the sea and 27 m/s for continental areas (Eurocode 1)
It consists of:
- Trapezoid frame
- Horizontal Purlins & Purlins Links
- Clamps for mounting P/V modules (made of Aluminium)
- Ancillary linking parts, of Inox A2 (Stainless Steel) quality, Category 8.8
As a whole, the Trapezoid Frame consists of the inclined beam (that supports the purlins), and the two vertical support beams (one-piece poles). The standard length for the rear pole is 3,30 m and for the front 2,35 m and are rammed to the ground. The depth of ramming is determined by pull-out tests carried out on the site's ground, according to the values specified by the static analysis. In this example the depth of ramming is 1.48 m for the front and 1.49 m for the rear pole.
Ground Application (Fields - Slopes, etc.)
- Applicable on P/V modules of all sizes
- Maximum distance between successive triangles is 2.40 meters
- Minimum distance from the ground to the bottom of the lower row of the P/V modules is 0.50 meters
- Maximum height from the ground to the top of the upper row is less than 2.50 meters
- Standardized inclination angles: 20o, 25o or 30o
The poles have oval holes at their upper ends, in order to be easy to handle inaccuracies of 2-4 cm. The inclined beam has oval holes for the same reason. It should be pointed out that the frame only needs two screws to be assembled.
Each string can be designed with practically infinite frames, connected with purlins.
The Purlins System includes the metallic beams and smaller components used for mounting photovoltaic modules. The Purlins, and the required joints are made of hot-dip galvanized steel in “C”- shape, measuring 60x40x60 mm, 2.00 mm thick and are connected with stainless steel bolts and nuts.
The P/V modules-purlins connecting kit: Each kit consists of an aluminium "Ω"–shaped clamp, measuring 80x25x20 mm, 3.00 mm thick, a screw of type ALLEN DIN 912 - A2 M8x50 and a square nut. The nut is positioned by sliding it within the purlins (without a spring). Between the P/V module and the purlin mediates a stainless steel gasket to prevent electrochemical corrosion.
